Driver’s license
Foreign Residents All drivers holding a residence visa or a work visa issued by the United Arab Emirates must present a valid driver’s license that has been held for 12 months at least and issued by the United Arab Emirates.
Tourists and visitors
Nationals holding driving license from the following countries can drive in the UAE, using a foreign license with a valid visitor visa or only a tourist visa. Note: the original certificate must be from the same country as the customer’s residence visa.

Customers with driver’s licenses from Japan, Turkey, Greece and South Korea are required to provide a translation of their driver’s license, duly certified by their embassy or consulate.
Drivers from countries not listed above can rent a car as long as they have a valid International Driving Permit (IDP) as well as a foreign driver’s license that has been held for at least 12 months.

Passport information
For all residents of the UAE, a copy of their passport (a copy of the ID page and a copy of the visa page) must be presented at the time of rental. For tourists and visitors, a valid UAE entry visa with passport is mandatory. Tilal Liwa will require its customers to provide passport and visa copies at the time of booking, in order to avoid problems at the pickup stage.
Payment method
A valid credit card is required in the name of the renter at the time of picking up the vehicle, as the estimated rental fee will be paid in advance, and prior authorization will be taken in accordance with the terms of the contract.
All credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Diners Club) are accepted only for making payments. the card must have enough balance to cover all costs related to the rental.
Credit cards are our preferred method of payment, while credit and debit cards can be used when settling dues at some Tilal Liwa offices.
